Education Show at Brough, UK
We believe it is vital that we help encourage more young people to consider careers in science and engineering.
In the UK, for example, we run an innovative theatre-based schools roadshow, which is designed to challenge stereotypes about engineering and excite young people about it as a possible career destination. In 2007 over 14,000 young people saw the roadshow.
In the US, we are involved in a range of activities, including the FIRST (for Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology) program, an international engineering based competition.
The company is also a major backer of the National Science Learning Centre at York in the UK and continues to sponsor the Learning & Skills Council's Apprenticeship Awards as well as the annual Schools Aerospace Challenge organised by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
